Learning in a Time of CoronaVirus
WCPSS StAtement on Remote Learning
Message to Diamonds Team Families from Ms. Timmel:
During this unexpected time at home I pray that you are all doing well and enjoying the time to be with family. I hope you are having opportunities to get outside and take part in this glorious spring weather. Over the next few days I am going to be trying to reach out to each of you individually and see how you are doing, so be looking for my call.
As you can see, from the Wake County policy statement above, all work between now and our regularly scheduled spring Track Out is intended to be review and enrichment, and will not count for a grade. That does not mean we want you to let your brains get out of shape, so I hope you will take advantage of some of the learning experiences and activities I will be posting on this page over the upcoming days.
So where does that leave grades for 3rd quarter? While the county has not come out with a final decision on that, I am continuing to grade work already collected and am regularly updating Power Schools. If you were absent on a day work was collected, I am exempting that assignment for you, so it will not count against you. I am also going through and exempting the lowest grade in both ELA and SS for each of you. Most of you are doing very well.
Below I am going to be posting opportunities in three categories: Just for Fun, Language Arts, and Social Studies. Try to do some reading every day - whatever you enjoy. Most of all, be good to those you are spending so much time with. Wash your hands and practice kindness every day.
